Folk Band FRGAL
We play folk songs of Slovak, Moravian, Bohemian folk regions, but also songs from Hungary, Romania or gipsy music and others to enjoy ourselves and share the enjoyment with our listneres.
All we play you can just listen to, or if you are courageous enough you can also dance.
The beginning of our group is dated to the year 1996, when a few local musicians from Olomouc clubbed together and played a kind of folk or folk-rock music. In the time being we started discovering the magic and beauty of real folklore music and traditions and adapted our repertoire.
A long 12 years collaboration with the Olomouc dancing Folklore Ensemble Dunajec in years 2001-2013 was an important period in FRGAL history. Dunajec focuses entirely on Slovak folk regions, thus we have improved our interpretation of those regions. Since 2015 we collaborate with Folklore Ensemble Krajina, which focuses on eastern Moravia folk regions.
We perform as a music band or together with dancers at various occasions; celebrations, international folk festivals at home or abroad etc.
